Parallel Picking

Multiple picking orders are processed simultaneously to increase efficiency and reduce throughput times.

Purpose

Parallel picking shortens throughput time by having multiple pickers work simultaneously on a split order. Multiple picking documents are created, which must later be consolidated in packaging.

Prerequisites

  • Warehouse shipment.
  • Available inventory.

Process Flow

Steps

  1. Create picking documents

  2. MDE login

    • Open A4 Picking.
    • Access the released picking documents.
  3. Carry out picking

    • Scan items as specified by the document.
    • Pickers working in parallel record their assigned lines.
  4. Packaging and completion

    • Consolidation of partial documents in packaging (A5 Packaging).
    • Finalize packaging and post warehouse shipment.

Hinweis

Parallel picking requires subsequent consolidation in packaging, as multiple pickers have collected goods for the same order. SIEVERS WMS merges the partial quantities using the consolidation number.
