Stocktaking Setup

The stocktaking setup in SIEVERS WMS defines which stocktaking types are available, how discrepancies are handled, and how the automation of counting processes is configured.

Purpose

  • Perform at least one complete count of all storage places each year.
  • Meet requirements of tax authorities and auditors.
  • Detection and correction of inventory discrepancies.
  • Measurement of inventory accuracy.

Prerequisites

  • Storage place must be recorded within the stocktaking period.
  • No existing reservations on the inventory.

Setup

Step 1: Define number series for stocktaking

  • Open the "Numbering" tab and create entries.
  • Activate blocking code for inventory discrepancies.

Step 2: Configure blocking of inventory discrepancies

  • Activate inventory blocking if required.
  • Create blocking codes accordingly.

Step 3: Set threshold values for discrepancies

  • Define values in the company currency.
  • System checks against discrepancy percentages.

Step 4: Automatic acceptance of count values

  • Counts 1 and 2 are processed automatically.
  • Evaluation by threshold comparison.

Step 5: Activate "zero-pass" picking

  • When a complete withdrawal is made, a zero-pass is performed.
  • Automatic stocktaking creation on "0" feedback.

Step 6: Confirm inventory via MDE device

  • Selection by scanner or manual entry possible.
  • MDE page: B5 Stocktaking.

Step 7: Set date formula for re-counting

  • Example: -6M for all storage places with count data older than 6 months.

Step 8: Define journal templates and number series

  • Prepare automatic creation and posting.
  • Details: Stocktaking.

Step 9: Activate quantity and value discrepancy checks

  • System automatically initiates a second or third count when thresholds are exceeded.
  • Adjustable at item level.

Step 10: Create stocktaking team

  • Configure WMS Teams for processing, print stations, and sorting.
