Move Job for Production Order

The move job for a production order coordinates material provision within production and optimizes the internal transport of required raw materials.

Purpose

The move job for the production order serves to fulfill requirements in production. It enables:

  • Item-based move jobs: Management of material movements for specific items.
  • Production order-based move jobs: Replenishment supply based on the requirements of a production order.

Setup

Roles

  • Production planner: Responsible for material planning.
  • Warehouse planner: Coordination of material movements.
  • Production supply employee / warehouse employee: Carrying out transports.

Process Flow

  1. Create the move job

    • Released production order > Action > Function > Replenishment for production order.
    • The move job is created based on item quantity specifications or production order components.
  2. Open and process the move job

    • Open move job.
    • A team assignment is performed in the move job lines. A team is selected based on the topology values of the WMS team.
    • Priority can be used to prioritize individual move job lines.
  3. Process on MDE device

    • Use A3 Item Transfer on the MDE device for processing.
    • Optionally, the move job can also be processed with printed documents (Reports > Move job list).

Hinweis

The move job for production orders uses the supply class Replenishment. This is stored in the SIEVERS WMS setup and controls how requirements from production are fulfilled.
