Transfer with Internal Transports

Transfer with internal transports covers the targeted relocation of goods between storage places to optimize inventory and accelerate processes.

Purpose

Internal transports enable efficient movement of complete load carriers within the warehouse. This can be done with or without move job display and allows for structured organization of larger movements.

In addition, the temporary organizational handling of SSCCs enables improved transport control and facilitates the consolidation of goods on shipping places.

Prerequisites

  • 1 load carrier – when driving by sight without a move job.
  • Multiple move jobs – when working with filters and A2.1.
  • Use of SSCCs for internal transports for better organization.

Process Flow

  1. Transport request and recording

    • Use of container and storage place scan for documentation.
    • Logged movement in the inventory entries.
    • Use of SSCCs on shipping places with structuring by warehouse shipment, order, customer, ship-to country, date, and shipping agent.

  2. Carrying out the transport

    • Use of WMS teams for coordination.
    • Use of transfer places and simultaneous drop-off in A2.
    • Use of SSCCs for targeted forwarding to shipping buffer places.

  3. Posting and completion

    • Automatic documentation of the movement and update of inventory.

  • Admin, warehouse/logistics manager, key user logistics: Management and optimization of transport processes.
  • Forklift operator: Carrying out internal transports and SSCC-supported transport movements.

Internal transports are used for inbound stock posts, replenishment, and the movement of complete load carriers between storage places. Operation

  1. Working with open transport jobs

    • Check WMS teams and log in to MDE.
    • Open A2 Internal Transports, select team 01.
    • Adjust the view with F4 (Ctrl+O) for better overview.

  2. Summarizing and organizing load carriers

    • Use A2.1 view for prioritized processing of transport orders.
    • Marking of important elements: halls, rack rows, load carrier types.

  3. Scan load carriers and place them

    • Scan target place and confirm drop-off.
    • Use of follow-up move jobs for subsequent processes.

  4. SSCC internal transports

    • Log in to MDE → Select A2 → Team 01.
    • Scan SSCC label → ignore place → enter SSCC abbreviation N = transport to shipping buffer place.

  5. Adjust the transport overview

    • Use screen A2.0 for overview and prioritization.
    • Scan and enter deviating storage places.

  6. Working without transport jobs or with restricted visibility

    • Deactivate move job line display for manual control.
    • Use of sight runs or targeted transport orders.

  7. Working with filter F5 (Ctrl+K)

    • Select move job type "Storage place transfer".
    • Targeted processing of transport orders by source or target place.

  8. Optimization through filtering and prioritization

    • Use of loading dates to control transports.
    • Adjustment by urgency and transport type for better planning.
