Warehouses
A Location can consist of several warehouses. These warehouses do not necessarily have to exist physically, but can also be created purely for the purpose of separating, for example, categories of goods. You can create new warehouses and manage existing ones via SNCL Warehouse List. In addition, you can create storage places for warehouses that have already been created.
Hinweis
Only WMS-managed locations are displayed in the location lookup.
When you create a new warehouse in the SNCL Warehouse List, the SNCL Warehouse Card opens.
SNCL Warehouse List
The warehouse list shows the following information:
- Location code
- Code (of the warehouse)
- Description
- Blocked
- Storage type
- Function
- Number of Spaces
- Blocked Number of Spaces
- Available Number of Spaces
SNCL Warehouse Card
You can use the Warehouse Card to create new storage places for this warehouse and to change its properties:
- Location code
- Code (of the warehouse)
- Description
- Storage type: Describes the main storage technology used in this warehouse. For some values, the storage type also affects system behavior. Possible values:
- 0-Not Specified Racks
- 1-Block Storage: For block storage places, the occupancy matrix controls the assignment logic. When storing goods, the inventory measure code of the load carrier (e.g. euro pallet, grid box) is determined automatically from the occupancy matrix. The check whether the space code of the load carrier is compatible with the storage place is skipped, since no further slot restrictions apply for block storage.
- 2-Pallet racks
- 3-Shelving Racks
- 4-Narrow Aisle Racks
- 5-Cantilever Racks
- 6-Flow Racks: Each time goods are stored, the load carrier receives a sequential arrival number (Einfahrnr.). This number determines the retrieval order: the load carrier stored first (lowest arrival number) is also retrieved first (FIFO - First In, First Out). The arrival number can be shown in the Outbound Stock Post lines.
- 7-Drive-in Racks: Like Flow Racks, but the arrival number is assigned as a negative value. This means the most recently stored load carrier is retrieved first (LIFO - Last In, First Out).
- 8-Mobile Shelving System
- 9-Not Specified Automatic Storage System
- 10-Autostore Systems
- 11-Lift Systems
- 12-Automatic small parts warehouse
- 13-Automatic high-bay warehouse
- 14-Silo
- Function: Describes the main task performed in this warehouse (e.g. Picking, Shipping Storage). Possible values:
- 0-Picking: Shelf areas, pallet areas, block storage or automated systems in which customer requirements are picked
- 1-Transfer Areas: Warehouse receipt areas, storage/retrieval stations, transfer areas
- 2-Replenishment Storage: Areas in which stock is kept exclusively in order to supply picking areas with goods as needed
- 3-Production: Areas where production takes place and needed input materials are stored for immediate consumption
- 4-Assembly: Areas where assembly takes place and needed input materials are stored for immediate use
- 5-Production and Assembly Supply Area: Areas in which only item quantities are stored that are intended for supplying the production and assembly workstations
- 6-Shipping Storage: Packaged goods are waiting here for the arrival of the collecting transport
- 7-Quality Inspection: Areas in which goods are presented to and inspected by QA
- 8-Blocked Storage: Areas where blocked, defective goods are located whose whereabouts have not yet been clarified
- 9-Recycling Storage: Areas in which insufficient quantities of items are collected for raw material recovery
- 10-Supply of empties and packaging materials: Areas intended for the storage and supply of empty containers and packaging materials
- 11-Value - Added Services: Areas in which kitting, assembly and/or packaging tasks are carried out
- 12-Finishing Storage: Controlled areas in which ripening and refining processes take place
- Storage Area Code
- Blocked: All inventory in this warehouse is blocked
- Visible to Sale
- Visible for Manufacturing
- Reservation max. 1 warehouse shipment: If this indicator is activated, it is transferred to all storage places in the warehouse
- Reservation max. 1 order: If this indicator is activated, it is transferred to all storage places in the warehouse
Create Storage Places (SWMS Create Storage Place)
The Create Storage Place action in the warehouse card opens the SWMS Create Storage Place dialog. Here you define the structure of the storage places to be created. The storage place codes are calculated from the combinations of the From/To entries.
Storage Places (From/To ranges per dimension type):
- Shelf (From/To Storage Shelf Code): Start and end code of the shelves.
- Level (From/To Level Code): Start and end code of the levels.
- Row (From/To Row Code): Start and end code of the rows.
- Box (From/To Box Code): Start and end code of the boxes.
Stepping Options (stepping and count per dimension type):
- Storage Shelf Stepping / Storage Shelf Count
- Level Stepping / Level Count
- Row Stepping / Row Count
- Box Stepping / Box Count
Separator:
- Coding including Warehouse: Specifies whether the warehouse code is encoded in the storage place code.
- Separator (Warehouse) / Separator (Shelf) / Separator (Level) / Separator (Row): Separator characters between the respective code components.
Dimensions:
- Category Code: Automatically transfers dimensions (height, width, depth, volume, weight) from the selected category. Values can be overwritten manually.
- Zone Code
- Height / Width / Depth [cm]
- Volume [m³]
- Weight [kg]
- Storage Place Type
- Storage Area
- Coding order: Defines the order in which the code components are combined.
- Display Description MDE: Specifies whether the storage place description is displayed on the MDE. When active, formatting functions for the storage place display cannot be used.
- Storage without storage unit: Allows direct putaway without creating an SU first. See SWMS Storage Place Card for details.
- Storing various inventories not allowed: Prevents different items or batches from being stored at the same storage place. See SWMS Storage Place Card for details.
Display Format (optional colour design of the storage place tree):
- Background Color (HTML) / Font Color (HTML) / Font Size for warehouse, shelf, level, row, and box respectively.
- Display Storage Place Format: Format mask for display in mobile dialogues (e.g.
####-#-####).
Options:
- Update Existing Storage Places: Specifies whether existing storage places are updated or skipped on re-execution. When active, Storage without storage unit and Storing various inventories not allowed are also applied to existing storage places.
- Show Success Message: Specifies whether a message showing the number of created or updated storage places is shown after execution.
