WR Unloading Stationary
In stationary unloading, warehouse receipt takes place at fixed unloading points, with recording usually done via permanently installed scanners.
Purpose
Stationary unloading serves the structured recording of the arrival and departure of delivery vehicles and the initial location of goods. This process enables measurement of unloading performance and can be prepared via the BC client. The truck driver usually registers at a gatehouse or in the warehouse receipt office.
Prerequisites
A delivery vehicle must arrive at the warehouse receipt for stationary unloading to be carried out.
Process Flow
Open warehouse receipts
- Via the Alt+Q search for "SWMS Warehouse Receipt" or navigation via warehouse documents.
Enter the carrier
- Mandatory entry of the carrier and/or vendor.
Record the barcode
- Use of blanco barcodes that can be printed in advance.
- After scanning, the arrival timestamp is automatically stored in the warehouse receipt document.
Optional: Record number of load carriers
- Documentation of arrival based on delivery documents.
- Possibility to extend the mobile process with additional functions.
Roles
- Site/access control employee: Responsible for registering vehicles.
- WR employee: Responsible for recording and locating goods.
Documents
Warehouse receipt documents are particularly relevant in the stationary warehouse receipt.
Setup
The basic configuration for stationary warehouse receipt includes:
- Activation of warehouse receipts at the location.
- Activation of WMS functionality.
- Definition of number series for open and posted warehouse receipts.
- Definition of a WR strategy and a WR team.
- Special SIEVERS WMS WR setup.
Process Integration
This process is particularly useful with a high number of daily deliveries. Separate processing of the unloading process can reduce delays and better manage queries about standstill times and demurrage. The documentation of unloading times also enables evaluation of alternative unloading techniques.
Unloading can take place after a pre-advice of a warehouse receipt as well as for unannounced deliveries.
Variants
- Stationary with blanco barcode scan: Standard process with barcode recording.
- Mobile with extended timestamps: Additional time recording steps.
- Mobile with photo documentation: Addition of image documentation for better traceability.
